Every problem has a solution, it is just that we need to think differently to solve it. At TrackSo, we recently did our recent collaborated with Renq, a leading solar EPC, for their 1 MWp Government site has more than 2 km distance between the equipment.

Want to Know how TrackSo helped Renq with these complications?

What was the challenge of the project?

A government college with buildings spaced far apart, with a considerable 2 km gap between inverters and two DGs. The scope of the project demanded monitoring for inverters, WMS, energy meters, and synchronization with DGs. Adding to the complexity, the data needed to be completely and accurately displayed on a local HMI.

How did TrackSo solve this?

Team TrackSo handled this problem by addressing the different aspects like communication infrastructure, facilitating data transmission, etc. thoroughly and carefully.

Let us take a quick look at each of these in detail below:

Communication Infrastructure:

An underground Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) was suggested to establish a robust communication network. Every component, or “slave,” was efficiently connected, ensuring a reliable flow of data across the large campus area.

Data Transmission:

To address the difficulties of data transmission, TrackSo introduced converters for OFC to TCP and TCP to RTU. This significant move guaranteed seamless and uninterrupted data flow, a critical aspect of effective monitoring.

Local Display Setup:

Recognizing the importance of local visibility, an additional Ethernet switch was integrated. This not only improved the display of data on the HMI but also led to increased accessibility, ensuring real-time insights.

Controller Efficiency:

TrackSo streamlined the monitoring process by employing only one single controller for both monitoring and DG synchronization. This not only simplified the system architecture but also contributed to operational efficiency.

Fail-Safe Mechanism:

Considering the importance of reliability, an additional Reverse Power Relay (RPR) was installed. Digital signals were transmitted through RPR, ensuring a fail-safe mechanism in case of communication failure from the DG side.

Data Analysis Portal:

In the era of data-driven decision-making, TrackSo developed a user-friendly portal for comprehensive data analysis. This enabled our customers to make informed decisions and enhanced system performance.

This all-in-one solution not only met but went way beyond the unique project requirement, highlighting TrackSo’s commitment to an impressive and reliable approach to such cases.
