Below you will find answers to general queries. For more information please contact us at support@trackso.in
Support
Can I install the device myself ?
Yes, there is a section called ‘Resources’ on the website that contains proper documentation and videos to help you install the system on your plant. In case you get into issues during the process, we provide you with on-call support for up to 7 working days to get your system integrated seamlessly. Post that, customer can raise tickets on our support platform for any kind of support. Just send an email to support@trackso.in with all the relevant information.
Can I ask for updates or modifications post integration?
What are the prerequisites?
There is a Quick Installation Guide that comes with every package. It contains all the prerequisites. You can refer to the same Quick Installation Guide here: https://trackso.page.link/installation
Can it be moved from one system to another ?
Yes, you can choose to disconnect an existing device from one system and connect it to another system. This change will come with a small reconfiguration fee and change in subscription fee, case to case basis.

Does TrackSo provides services outside India ?
Yes, we do. If you need our IoT gateways, we provide it for countries that follow same communication protocol as India [For GPRS/LAN/WiFI]. If you need to use only TrackSo platform and wish to use your own IoT gateways, you can use out platform from any part of the world.
Solar IoT Platform
Where is my data stored? Is it secure?
TrackSo runs on the same infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products, such as Google Search and YouTube. All data is encrypted in transit between Google, the customers, and the data centers. The data stored on persistent disks is encrypted under 256-bit AES and each encryption key is also encrypted with a set of regularly changed master keys.
What is a 'SUMMARY' unit on TrackSo Solar platform?
A ‘SUMMARY’ unit is a unit that contains the aggregated data of all the inverters and weather station to provide you with plant level analysis. This unit contains plant level energy production, instantaneous power production, solar irradiation and performance ratio values of your solar PV plant
How is Performance Ratio [PR] calculated ?
We use the following formula to calculate the Performance Ratio: (Output Active Power [kWp] * 1000 [W/m2])/(Plant Capacity [kWp] * Solar Irradiation [W/m2])
How long will my data be stored?
Your data will be stored with us for as long as your SaaS license is active. Post that, we keep your data in achived form for another 90 days in case you wish to request the same from us.
What all parameters can I monitor for my solar PV plant with TrackSo?
Following is the list of most common parameters that can be monitored. However, we do not restrict any parameter from the slaves. We can pick up any parameter that you wish to monitor until the limit does not cross your SaaS license limitations:
1. Voltage, Current, Power and Energy on AC and DC sides
2. Frequency, Power Factor
3. Inverter Status
4. Fault Status
5. Runtime of the solar PV inverter
6. Temperature [ambient, solar module, inverter etc.]
7. Solar Irradiation
I forgot my password. What should I do?
If you have forgotten your password, go to the login page and click on the “Forgot your password?” link. A “Recover Password” window appears where you have to enter the e-mail address used for registration or provided during purchase. After submitting, you will get an email with further instructions to reset your password.
IoT Gateway
How compatible is TrackSo with various systems/devices?
TrackSo offers various IoT gateways that can capture data from:
1. MODBUS RTU (RS485-RS232)
2. MODBUS TCP
3. Analog sensors (0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20 mA)
4. Digital sensors
However, the platform is hardware agnostic and can collect data from any other IoT gateway with other communication protocols available in the industry.
How does TrackSo IoT access Internet ?
TrackSo gateways all available in different models different connectivity method. Kindly check the IoT Gateway Datasheet to verify the connectivity type available in your gateway. Datasheets- https://trackso.in/datasheets/
Can you integrate with any third party data logger/gateway ?
Yes, we can support any third party data logger/gateway which can be configured to send data on TrackSo IoT/Solar platform.
How do I power TrackSo IoT Gateway?
It can be powered using 12-24v DC supply. A 12V – 2A wall power adapter is supplied in the package with every IoT Gateway for you to initate the usage.
However, you can choose to use any other 12V – 24V DC power supply. If any additional input protection is requied, then you can install the necessary equipments as per your requirement.
How many devices can I connect to one TrackSo Gateway ?
TrackSo provides multiple IoT gateways, each having different capacity ranging from 1- 32 devices (MODBUS slaves). Datasheets- https://trackso.in/datasheets/
What kind of warranty do you provide?
TrackSo IoT gateways come with a 1-year warranty which covers manufacturing defects and any issue apart from the following:
1. Lightning damage
2. Incorrect power supply (overvoltage)
3. Physical damage
The standard warranty document is available here: https://trackso.in/warranty/
What is the monthly internet data consumption of a GPRS based TrackSo IoT Gateway?
The amount of data exchanged on the GPRS network varies depending on the configuration. However, the average consumption is around 50MB/month/slave for a data sending frequency of 10 mins. For example, if you’ve connected 4 slaves to the TrackSo IoT Gateway, it will consume around 200MB/month internet data.
Can I connect multiple brands of inverter on the same gateway?
Yes, provided they communicate on the same protocol i.e. MODBUS RTU or MODBUS TCP as per your logger model. Mandatory Requirment: Each inverter in a MODBUS network should have same baud rate but different MODBUS ID (address).
Which inverters are compatible?
For a list of compatible inverters, please visit: https://trackso.in/trackso-compatible-inverters-vfds-meters-remote-monitoring/
How long can data be stored for in IoT Gateway ?
The data backup varies on IoT gateway model, amount of data to be collected and the frequency. The average backup time ranges from 3 to 4 months. Check more on logger specifications here:https://trackso.in/datasheets/
